I am Katerina Komselis — a family photographer based in Nørresundby with a special focus on creating images that endure for generations. My approach to family photography is built on calm, humour and respect for the small moments: the unexpected glances, the laughter between siblings and the quiet, tender times with a newborn. I work with newborns, babies, families with children, christenings, confirmations and birthday sessions, and I consider myself a specialist in family photography. My goal is always to make the photo experience safe and natural. I guide gently and use a conversational, present approach — both with the adults and with the children. A little tip from me: introduce me as “Katerina” rather than “the photographer”; that often helps children relax and let their natural selves shine through. I photograph both at home, which brings warmth and intimacy to the images, and outdoors at familiar North Jutland locations such as Hammer Bakker and Blokhus, depending on what suits your family best. As a family photographer I value authenticity over posed setups. I combine documentary-style moments with classic portraits so you receive both lively storytelling images and timeless photos that work beautifully on the wall. Each session is tailored to your needs — whether it’s a newborn’s first portrait, playful photos of toddlers, or coverage of a christening or confirmation day. I place great importance on trust and collaboration: from the first conversation and location choice to the shoot itself, where I make sure the atmosphere is relaxed. My education at Medie Skolerne in Viborg and experience from assignments both locally and internationally have given me a solid command of light, timing and situational awareness.
