Allan Høgholm Photography

I am Allan Høgholm — a family photographer based in Tilst near Aarhus, and family photography is my core area. My focus is on creating natural, warm family images where mood and relationships are central. I work with newborn photography, child photography and family sessions for the whole family, and I draw on my experience as a portrait photographer to help every member feel relaxed in front of the camera. My approach is calm and practical: I guide you into natural poses with a relaxed tone while allowing authentic moments to surface. For many families the best photos come when children can be themselves — so I prioritize time, patience and play during sessions. With newborn sessions I use gentle direction and a reassuring setting so both baby and parents have a calm experience and receive beautiful, timeless images. I combine classic portrait elements with a reportage eye: whether outdoors or in the studio I look for situations and details that tell your story — small hands, a look between siblings, or laughter during play. I often suggest 2–3 different locations to give you variation in light and background; if it makes sense, I’m happy to visit and assess locations beforehand. As a family photographer I place great value on the relationship with my clients. I prefer an initial conversation or meeting so I can get to know you and you know what to expect. That trust usually makes the day more relaxed and the photos more personal. Beyond family work, I have strong experience in portrait and wedding photography, which strengthens my skills in composition and managing diverse lighting and situations — but my main focus here remains family, children and newborn photography.
